We started LOVE Lumpia because my wife and I always believed that we could elevate the Filipino culinary experience. Jessette is an accomplished chef, a mixed-Filipino woman who is proud of her heritage.
Jessette has worked at some of the finest restaurants throughout Northern California, like Morimoto in Napa, Michael Mina's RN74 in San Francisco, Michael Chiarello's Bottega in Yountville, and she served as Executive Chef for Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Walnut Creek. Wow! Whew!
And me? Well, I'm just a simple guy who's raising our amazing son, and writing stories.
I don't know if you know what it’s like being a woman in a male dominated culinary industry, but let me tell you, it ain't fun!
So, we decided to start LOVE Lumpia because we wanted to be the masters of our own destiny. That's the American Way!
We believe in the core American values of hard, honest work, Freedom, self-determination, and Truth!
Okay, that's the heavy stuff!
Let's talk about the good stuff, the better stuff.
LOVE Lumpia is a way to honor Jessette's grandma Emiliana, her Nanay, who taught her at a very young age to hand roll lumpias in their tiny kitchen. Nanay also taught Jessette the secret to great cuisine: LOVE.
We put a lot of love into every LOVE Lumpia because that's also the way to do things better and bring people together. In the end it's all about making a BIG SPLASH and spreading the love!
